Your Questions, Answered Honestly.

If you're new to alternative wellness — or new to Just Breathe — it's natural to have questions. We want you to feel informed, comfortable, and confident before you ever walk through the door. Browse the most common questions below, and if you don't find what you're looking for, reach out. We're happy to talk it through.

Getting Started

Is the free consultation really free? What's the catch?

There is no catch. Your first consultation — available in person, by phone, or by video — is completely complimentary and carries no obligation. It's a 30-minute conversation with your Just Breathe Client Navigator. We'll talk through your health history, what you've been experiencing, and what you're hoping to address. We'll walk you through every available treatment, tour the facility if you're here in person, and recommend a plan that fits your situation and your budget. You leave with a clear picture of your options. What you do next is entirely up to you.

Who is Just Breathe for?

Everyone. We serve the whole family — children, adults, seniors, and pets. Whether you are managing a chronic condition, recovering from an injury, dealing with symptoms that conventional medicine hasn't been able to explain, or simply ready to invest in your overall wellness, there is a place for you here. More than 200 conditions have been addressed through the therapies we offer, and every treatment is FDA approved.

Are you doctors? Will you diagnose me or prescribe medication?

We are not physicians, and we do not diagnose, prescribe, or claim to cure. What we do is guide. Our team includes a licensed Respiratory Therapist with over 20 years of clinical experience and certified specialists trained in energy medicine and alternative wellness. We make informed suggestions, explain your options clearly, and refer you to other providers when appropriate. We work alongside your existing care — not in opposition to it.

What should I expect at my first appointment?

Plan to arrive a few minutes early. You'll be greeted warmly by your Client Navigator, who will make sure everything is already set up and ready for you when you walk in. Your treatment space is yours for the duration of your session — private, prepared, and unhurried. Before any service begins, you'll complete a brief intake form that helps us understand your health history and ensure your safety. From there, your Navigator guides you through everything, answers questions as they come up, and checks in with you throughout the session. There is no pressure to do more than you're ready for.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No referral is needed. You can book directly online or by calling us at 217-304-0617.

Understanding the Treatments

A note before you read: many of our clients come to us having never heard of these therapies. That's completely fine. Each one is explained below in plain language — what it is, what it feels like, and who it tends to help most. For deeper detail on any service, visit our Services page.

What is PEMF and how does it work?

PEMF stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field. Using a mat, pillow, or wand, it delivers gentle electromagnetic pulses into your body — essentially recharging your cells the way a phone charger restores a depleted battery. Those pulses help red blood cells realign, reduce inflammation, and support your body's return to its natural, balanced state — what practitioners call homeostasis.

The Just Breathe PEMF system is FDA approved and carries over 200 condition-specific frequency programs. NASA has used this same technology to support the immune systems of astronauts during long-duration spaceflight. The Phoenix Suns NBA team has invested in PEMF mats for their players to accelerate recovery and protect long-term health.

Sessions are fully clothed, non-invasive, and relaxing — most clients simply lie down, close their eyes, and let the session do its work. Some feel tingling or gentle warmth. Some see colors or shapes with their eyes closed. Some feel nothing at all during the session and notice changes in the hours and days after. Many fall asleep. All of that is normal.

Contraindications: Epilepsy, pregnancy, certain electronic implants.

What is an Ionic Foot Bath?

An Ionic Foot Bath uses a gentle ionic charge to draw toxins out of the body through the soles of the feet. You rest comfortably with your feet in a warm basin of purified, salted water while an ionizer creates the electromagnetic field that initiates the process. As toxins are released, the water changes color — and a chart is provided so you can track what's happening and where it's coming from in your body.

After your session, your feet are cleansed with a mineral spray, and your Client Navigator finishes with a brief reflexology massage and a detox cream application that helps extend the cleansing process for hours after you leave. The whole experience is comfortable, relaxing, and genuinely fascinating to watch.

Wear loose pants or shorts you can roll up to the knee.

What is Red Light Therapy?

Red light therapy delivers near and far infrared light through a full-body mat laid gently over you during your session. The light penetrates at the nanoscale level — past the skin, through soft tissue, all the way to the bone — activating healing at the cellular level. It supports pain relief, lymphatic drainage, reduced inflammation, and improved skin health. Many clients describe the sensation as deeply warm and comforting, similar to a weighted blanket.

Targeted mini mats are also available for specific areas — neck, shoulder, knee, lower back — and a dedicated facial panel addresses wrinkles, acne, and scarring. Sessions are fully clothed; the light penetrates through thin fabric.

What is the Infrared Sauna?

The infrared sauna is a private, single-person booth that heats to 160°F, promoting deep sweating as one of the body's most effective natural detox pathways. Unlike traditional saunas that heat the air around you, infrared heat warms your body directly — which means a gentler, more penetrating experience at lower ambient temperatures.

The Just Breathe sauna booth includes volcanic stone flooring for low EMF exposure, chromotherapy lighting that shifts through colors shown to support mood and energy, relaxing background music, and a bacteria-killing ozone system. It is thoroughly sanitized between every single client.

Towels and wraps are provided. Bring an extra change of clothes. Do not use if pregnant or if you have consumed alcohol. Stay well hydrated before and after.

What are the Compression Circulation Boots?

These are inflatable boots that cover the feet, calves, and thighs and cycle through gentle, rhythmic compression and release — mimicking the natural pumping action of the lymphatic system. They improve circulation, reduce swelling and muscle cramps, support lymphatic drainage, and help with restless legs and spinal alignment. The intensity is adjustable. Sessions are comfortable, fully clothed, and leave most clients feeling noticeably lighter in their legs.

Contraindications: Blood clots/DVT, certain cardiac conditions.

What is Supplemental Oxygen Aromatherapy?

A nasal cannula delivers 28% supplemental oxygen — slightly above the 21% found in normal air — blended with therapeutic essential oils. Eucalyptus is the preferred oil for its well-documented effects on the respiratory system and brain function, though other scents are available. Clients frequently describe an immediate sense of mental clarity and a noticeable lift in energy. Sessions run 30 minutes.

What are the ZYTO Scans?

ZYTO scanning is a non-invasive technology that measures your body's biological responses to identify which systems may be under stress and what nutritional or therapeutic supports your body appears to need. You place your hand on a sensor and the scan runs quietly — no needles, no discomfort. Results are reviewed with your Client Navigator to inform your treatment plan. Four tiers are available, from the entry-level Balance Scan ($10) to the comprehensive Advanced Scan ($100), with food sensitivity and standard options in between.

What to Expect

Will I feel results after one session?

Often, yes. Our success rate after a single session is 95% — meaning 95 out of 100 clients report feeling some kind of change, whether that's reduced pain, improved mobility, better mood, clearer skin, or simply a sense of being lighter and more at ease. For some clients, the shift is immediate and significant. For others it is subtle at first. Both are valid, and both are progress.

It is important to understand that your body has taken time to arrive at the state it's in. Healing is not always linear, and results vary by individual, condition, and how many sessions you have had. The clients who see the most meaningful transformation are typically those who commit to a consistent treatment plan over several weeks.

What is a Herxheimer reaction, and should I be worried about it?

A Herxheimer reaction — sometimes called a "healing crisis" — is when you feel temporarily worse after a detox session before you feel better. It can show up as fatigue, flu-like symptoms, or mild discomfort in the 24 hours following a treatment. This is not a sign that something went wrong. It is a sign that your body is actively processing and eliminating the toxins that were released during your session.

The best thing you can do is drink plenty of water — ideally lemon water — rest as much as possible, and give your body time to complete the process. The Herxheimer reaction is most common in clients who are new to detox therapies or who carry a significant toxic load. It typically diminishes with subsequent sessions as the body becomes more efficient at clearing.

How often should I come in?

For new clients, we recommend starting with once a week for four weeks. At that point, we do a reassessment together — looking at what's changed, what's improving, and what your body may still need. Depending on your progress, we may move to every two weeks, and eventually to monthly maintenance visits. Think of it less like a course of treatment and more like an ongoing investment in how you feel. Your body didn't arrive at where it is overnight, and it won't fully recover overnight either — but with consistency, the results tend to be significant and lasting.

Should I eat or drink before a session?

Yes — eat something light and drink water before you come in. Don't come in on an empty stomach or right after a heavy meal. Being well hydrated before your session helps your body respond to treatment more effectively and supports the detox process afterward. After your session, keep drinking water throughout the day.

Is it safe for my children? My pets?

Yes to both. Just Breathe serves the whole family, including children, and select services — particularly PEMF and the Ionic Foot Bath — are available for pets as well. The PEMF wand is especially well suited for children and animals, as it doesn't require stillness and can be used at close range. All friendly, vaccinated pets are welcome. Session lengths for animals may vary.

Practical Questions

How much does it cost?

Individual services range from $5 for a nebulizer treatment to $100 for an Advanced ZYTO Scan, with most sessions falling between $20 and $55. Your free consultation is, of course, free. For clients who want to make ongoing care more affordable, membership plans start at $30/month and offer significant per-session savings, shareable hours for immediate family members, and no long-term contracts. Ask your Client Navigator about which plan makes the most sense for your goals and your budget.

Do you offer memberships or packages?

Yes. We offer five membership options designed to make consistent care accessible:

The Monthly Membership Club at $30/month includes one free foot bath or sauna session, 10% off all future services, and a free freeze-dried snack item or 10% off health products.

Hour-bank plans are available at 4 hours ($200), 8 hours ($400), and 16 hours ($600) — all shareable with immediate family, valid for 6 to 12 months, and with no contracts.

A dedicated Weight Loss Membership at $250/month pairs sauna and PEMF sessions in a structured weekly program designed to support metabolism and weight loss goals.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, check, credit card (processed through Square), and Venmo. A $3.00 service fee applies to credit card transactions under $200; transactions over $200 incur a 3% charge. Payment is due at the time of service.

How do I know it's clean and sanitary?

Sanitation is something we take seriously — not as a formality, but as a genuine commitment to your safety. Every treatment surface, basin, and piece of equipment is cleaned and sanitized between every client. The infrared sauna is wiped down and ozone-treated after each session. We consulted directly with the local health department to make sure our procedures meet and exceed their standards, and we update our protocols as guidelines evolve. If you ever have a specific concern about sanitation, please ask — we're happy to walk you through exactly what we do.

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask for at least 8 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule, except in cases of illness, emergency, or fever — those are always understood. Arriving more than 10 minutes late will result in rescheduling and a $20 fee. Changes made less than 24 hours before an appointment carry a $10 rescheduling fee. Two no-call/no-show occurrences result in a $20 fee and a requirement for full prepayment on all future bookings.

To cancel or let us know you're running late: call or text 217-304-0617.

These policies exist to protect everyone's time — yours included.
