Plan to arrive a few minutes early for your first appointment. When you walk in, your treatment space will already be set up and waiting for you. You'll be welcomed by your Just Breathe Client Navigator — the same person who will be with you throughout your session, answering questions and checking in as you go.
Before your first service, you'll complete a brief intake form covering your health history, any relevant conditions, and any allergies or sensitivities to creams or products. This paperwork exists for your safety and ours — it helps us make sure every recommendation we make is appropriate for you specifically.
Once that's done, this space is yours. Make yourself comfortable. Ask questions. There is no rushing here.
Please note: Just Breathe staff are not doctors and cannot diagnose, prescribe, or claim to cure any condition. We make informed suggestions and referrals in support of your wellness journey.
Every session at Just Breathe is one-on-one and private. Your Client Navigator will be present throughout — available to talk, answer questions, and check in on how you're feeling — or simply to give you quiet space to relax if that's what you prefer. Communication matters to us. Knowing what's working and what isn't is how we continue to refine your care.
If at any point during a session you feel uncomfortable — physically or otherwise — please let your Navigator know immediately. Your comfort and safety always come first.
Any allergies to creams, oils, or nut-derived products
Any electronic implants, pacemakers, or cardiac devices
Any current medications that may interact with heat or detox therapies
Pregnancy
Any recent surgeries or acute injuries
Please eat a light meal and drink water before coming in. Don't arrive on an empty stomach or right after a heavy meal. Hydration supports your body's response to treatment and helps the detox process move smoothly.
Drink water — a lot of it. Your body has just done significant detox work, and water is what helps it complete that process. Lemon water is especially helpful in the hours after a session.
Rest when you can. If you feel tired after a session, that's not a side effect — it's your body allocating energy to healing. Honor it.
You may feel worse before you feel better. Some clients — particularly those new to detox therapies or carrying a significant toxic load — experience what's called a Herxheimer reaction in the 24 hours following a session. This can feel like fatigue, mild flu-like symptoms, or general heaviness. It is not a sign that something went wrong. It is a sign that your body is actively processing and eliminating what was released during treatment. It typically diminishes significantly with each subsequent session.
Book your next appointment before you leave. Consistency is where the real results happen. We recommend starting with once a week for four weeks, then reassessing together. Your body didn't arrive at where it is overnight — and it won't fully recover overnight either. But with steady, supported care, the shift is real.
Sanitation at Just Breathe is not a checklist item — it is a non-negotiable commitment to every person who walks through the door.
Every treatment surface, mat, basin, and piece of equipment is cleaned and sanitized between every single client. The infrared sauna is wiped down and ozone-treated after each use. The ionic foot bath uses a fresh liner for every session. Reflexology tools and application products are handled with full sanitary protocol throughout.
We consulted directly with the local health department when establishing our sanitation procedures and continue to update our practices in alignment with IDPH and CDC guidelines. If you have a specific concern or question about how a particular treatment or surface is cleaned, please ask. We will walk you through exactly what we do.
Clients with disabilities: We will do everything we can to accommodate your needs. If you have concerns about mobility, positioning, or accessibility, let us know when you book and we will make sure your session is set up appropriately before you arrive.
Restrooms are cleaned after every client visit. You will be asked before and between sessions whether you need to use the restroom — please don't hesitate to say yes.
Just Breathe operates by appointment only. Every session is reserved specifically for you, and every opening on the schedule is an opportunity for someone who needs care to receive it. We ask that you treat the schedule with the same respect we bring to your time in the treatment room.
Cancellations: Please give us at least 8 hours' notice if you need to cancel. Illness, emergencies, and fever are always understood — no questions asked.
Late arrivals: Arriving more than 10 minutes late will result in rescheduling and a $20 fee. If you're running behind, call or text us at 217-304-0617 — we'd always rather know.
Rescheduling: Changes made less than 24 hours before your appointment carry a $10 rescheduling fee.
No call / no show: Two no-call/no-show occurrences result in a $20 fee due immediately and a requirement for full prepayment on all future bookings.
Membership holders: Time will be deducted from your plan accordingly for no-shows or late cancellations.
These policies exist to protect everyone's time — including yours. They allow us to serve as many people as possible and keep the healing space running smoothly for all.
To cancel, reschedule, or let us know you're running late: call or text 217-304-0617.
